Story Pitches

The strongest stories sprout from strong story ideas. Any accomplished writer knows how to develop an original idea and sell it to skeptical editors. The class will practice the skills necessary to succeed in selling their ideas and themselves. Students will be required to write three sentence pitches for each of the written assignments. Those pitches must include three elements: An opening sentence to encapsulates the idea in a compelling way; explains why the story is important and why readers should care about it now.
